You'll be playing something recognisable by week three — not exercises, an actual song, with other people playing alongside you. No music reading required, no experience assumed. Already play? You're welcome too. Alex Crick teaches to the room, so you'll work on your own material while the newer players find their feet — and everyone plays together. Guitar is one of the few instruments where a handful of chords unlocks hundreds of songs. This is the term where you get them. Bring your guitar. You can rent or buy one easily in Halifax, and we're happy to point you in the right direction. With three or more, the class runs the full 45 minutes. With two, it runs 30 minutes — a smaller room, closer to a semi-private, with far more individual attention per person. We'll email you the week before the term begins to confirm which it is, so you'll know before the first class. Make an evening of it — Jam Night runs four to five Fridays each session at 8:00, with an hour and a half in between. Dinner out, a stroll, errands, then back to play your tunes with friends.
