Service Description

You'll learn how to hold the bow, how to hold the violin, and how to make a sound you actually like. Then an A scale, a D scale, a French folk tune, and Boil 'Em Cabbage — real songs, in a small group, by the end of the session. This is for true beginners. Not "I played a bit in school" beginners — people who have never touched a violin and aren't sure which end is which. Alex Crick teaches it, and nobody in that room will be ahead of you. Bring your violin. You can rent or buy one easily in Halifax, and we're happy to point you in the right direction. Wednesdays 7:50–8:35 PM · Sep 16 to Dec 2 With Alex Crick · Room 1 12 weekly sessions · $154 · around $12.83 a class A note on class length Class length depends on how many people register. With three or more, the class runs the full 45 minutes. With two, it runs 30 minutes — a smaller room, closer to a semi-private, with far more individual attention per person. We'll email you the week before the term begins to confirm which it is, so you'll know before the first class. Played before? We also run Advanced Beginner Violin/Fiddle on Fridays at 6:30PM and Intermediate Fiddle on Fridays at 7:15PM.
