BUSKING TODAY

Maia and our new Suzuki guitar teacher, Luke are running the busking at the LOWER parking lot of Point pleasant Park this afternoon 12-1 before the Shakespeare by the sea indoors show at 2pm. Look for us! Come and join us! Proceeds to institute scholarships/ new Scotia Suzuki school pianos.

SOCIAL DANCE Edgett school of dance will join us in the new school space to teach beginner social dance classes for both youth and adults on monday nights starting in October. Send me a request email for their flier for more information. Mark and I might be there dancing away on Monday nights!

INTRODUCING JULIA BOWDRING


Julia Bowdring, Violin/Piano Julia Bowdring is originally from St. John’s, Newfoundland, and has recently moved to Nova Scotia. She is a violinist, pianist, accompanist, and fiddler, and worked with Suzuki Talent Education Program (STEP) and King’s Bridge Montessori School for many years. She also has served as the co-Artistic Director of STEP. Julia holds a Bachelor of Music (classical piano) from Memorial University of Newfoundland, and a Masters degree from the University of Limerick, where she specialized in Irish Traditional Music Performance. Julia has studied the Suzuki Method with Helen Brunner, Paule Barsalou, and Caroline Fraser, and has experience with the Dalcroze and Kodaly Methods. She has taught in Newfoundland, Ontario, and Limerick, Ireland, and has performed in many locations worldwide including London (England), New York, Ottawa, and throughout Ireland. Julia is delighted to be a teacher and accompanist with the Nova Scotia Suzuki School, and is excited to help the school grow, develop, and thrive.
