You are...

'The Supportive Enchanter' teacher who makes the journey magical.

Transcript:

Well Hello " Supportive Enchanter" teacher!

In the Wizarding World of Orlando, I witnessed parents who created a magical atmosphere for their children's wand practice. They dressed up, told stories, and played along in the adventure "together."

Just like the "Supportive Enchanter" parents in The Wizarding World,  as a teacher, you create creative, fun and engaging experiences for your students. They might not have figured out how to practice yet at home even but they love coming to lessons. You keep them engaged and loving their time with you. You might play along with them for most or all of the lesson, and when they are with you they feel like they are a musician, because you teach them to believe in themselves. However, sometimes it can be challenging to keep up your energy and a longer teaching day can be draining. It also takes time to prepare for lessons always to be coming up with new ideas to keep them entertained and engaged continuously.

About Christy:

As a fellow practicing parent of three, a music teacher of 35-plus years, and now music school director, I created this quiz to help you understand your unique magic abilities as a teacher. I understand the challenges and joys of both teaching and the responsibilities you have to guide and support your student’s parents, after raising 3 very different children of my own. I get it, and we're in this together.

Why this knowledge is powerful:

Knowing your magical teaching style is a powerful thing because you can use this knowledge to level up your teaching. You can specifically choose goals and how you will accomplish them based on things that you will naturally be good at. That means you will be more successful and so will your students!

Congratulations!:

You've already shown your commitment to your student's musical education, by taking the time to do this quiz - so congratulations…and you're here because you're ready to learn what to do next.

As a  " Supportive Enchanter" teacher your next step is to become a master of your prep time and getting activities with a wow that are mostly done for you.

Here are the two things to focus on next:

First, check out all of the resources on Practicing pro. There are dozens of activities that are easy PDF downloads that you can make ahead of time and have ready for busy weeks. An example is the upcoming Valentine's activity. You can get it at the end of January and prep it right away. That will be a few weeks of easy lessons your students will love - DONE!

Second, find ways to balance in your teaching when you are “all in” and when you take a step back and see what your students can do on their own and for each other. An example is an assistant senior student that you have trained to run your warm-ups for group class and then for the rest of the class, they cut out an activity for you that you will be using in a few weeks. Finding all ways to save your energy - so that you can reserve it for your teaching.

Think about these TWO things, and you’ve got this! And hey, thank you for being a “Supportive Enchanter” teacher - the world NEEDS fun-involved adults like YOU with creativity! You are able to be with a student where they are in the way they need. This is a rare and special quality you have and should always keep! We need you not to get burnt out and keep your spark for teaching for a very long time!

The next step:

Now, ready to put it all together and take the next step? If you're wondering what's next and how to leverage this information, I have a special one-time workshop coming up – the "Level Up Your Music Practices in 2024” with Your Magical Style of Teaching. This FREE workshop is your chance to integrate your newfound knowledge and make 2024 a year of incredible growth and success.

Too often, we try to improve by doing something we read or see online or in our studios. Maybe something your teacher is asking you to do or you read about.

This is great to be inspired by others, but success comes from doing the right thing and not doing everything.  When you make goals that resonate with your natural, innate style, then you will have success. As you've discovered in this quiz from Practicing pro, you know your magical parenting style, and it is unique and powerful.  So now instead of focusing on what you have read or seen others do, we will instead use YOUR specific strengths as an “Supportive Enchanter” to your advantage.

Free Workshop with Practicing pro:

Let's figure out the goals you can make in 2024 that are enhanced by your magical teaching style.  This FREE workshop is designed specifically to help YOU capitalize on your strengths.
