'The Problem-Solving Mage' teacher: who fosters creativity in challenges.

Transcript:

Well Hello " Problem-Solving Mage" teacher;

In The Wizarding World, I noticed parents encouraging their children to experiment with different wand movements when a spell proved tricky. They would have them stand here, or try this or that. Maybe if it were frustrating, they would say “let's come back and try again in a bit” or “let's watch someone else and see how they do it and then try again.

Just like the "Problem-Solving Mage" parents in the Wizarding World, as a music teacher, you ask your students engaging questions during music practice, guiding their growth and helping them figure things out on their own as well as with your creative innovations and ideas.

However, a problem solving mage will sometimes take their students struggles home with them and think about their struggles at night or all week, which can be hard or discouraging.

About Christy:

As a fellow practicing parent of three, a music teacher of 35-plus years, and now music school director, I created this quiz to help you understand your unique magic abilities as a teacher. I understand the challenges and joys of both teaching and the responsibilities you have to guide and support your student’s parents, after raising 3 very different children of my own. I get it, and we're in this together.

Why this knowledge is powerful:

Knowing your magical teaching style is a powerful thing because you can use this knowledge to level up your teaching. You can specifically choose goals and how you will accomplish them based on things that you will naturally be good at. That means you will be more successful and so will your students!

Congratulations!:

You've already shown your commitment to your student's musical education, by taking the time to do this quiz - so congratulations…and you're here because you're ready to learn what to do next.

As a " Problem Solving Mage" teacher your next step is to learn more about yourself and improve your teaching skills, the more you know, the faster and easier you can problem solve from the knowledge of others added to your own ideas instead of reinventing the wheel each bump in your lesson. The biggest secret when faced with a challenge in teaching music is to run the practicing bit you are struggling with over the bridge and pass these three pillars. Once you do this, the problem is often remedied or at the least very small.

Here are the three  PRACTICING PILLARS for solving a musical challenge:

First, Tempo, is it too fast?

Second, Length, is it too long?

Third, Difficulty, are there other steps you need to take first to build up this section?

Think about these THREE pillars to become a master problem solver in teaching and practicing, and you’ve got this!

And hey, thank you for being a “Problem-Solving Mage” teacher - the world NEEDS adults like YOU! You know that music lessons and daily practice habits can shape your child into a disciplined adult who can independently solve the conflicts in their life and accomplish BIG things by breaking them into little manageable steps they work on daily. What a gift! This is a special quality you have and should always keep!

The next step:

Now, ready to put it all together and take the next step? If you're wondering what's next and how to leverage this information, I have a special one-time workshop coming up – the "Level Up Your Music Practices in 2024” with Your Magical Style of Teaching. This FREE workshop is your chance to integrate your newfound knowledge and make 2024 a year of incredible growth and success.

Too often, we try to improve by doing something we read or see online or in our studios. Maybe something your teaching teacher is asking you to do or something you read about from a  mentor.

This is great to be inspired by others, but success comes from doing the right thing and not doing everything.  When you make goals that resonate with your natural, innate style, then you will have success. As you've discovered in this quiz from Practicing pro, you know your magical teaching style, and it is unique and powerful.  So now instead of focusing on what you have read or seen others do, we will instead use YOUR specific strengths as an “Problem-Solving Madge” to your advantage.

Free Workshop with Practicing pro:

Let's figure out the goals you can make in 2024 that are enhanced by your magical teaching style.  This FREE workshop is designed specifically to help YOU capitalize on your strengths.
